UPAINT 2022 was held on the prestigious Terrasses du Soleil, behind the Monte-Carlo Casino, from June 17th to 20th. This year, we had the honor to showcase the work of some internationally acclaimed artists, the biggest list to date. As always, we proudly raised funds, thanks to our live auction, for the FPA2 to participate to one of their initiatives, this year a project to support the protection of forest animals in the neighboring region PACA.

For the first time in 6 years, some incredible and exclusive artwork remained unsold at the auction, thus creating a unique opportunity for U to purchase artwork in a private sale from world-renowned artists and support a charitable cause for our Planet. Click here to find out which paintings remain for sale!

AURA was born in 1997 and lives near Düsseldorf, Germany.

In addition to her retail design studies, which she is completing at the university of applied sciences in Düsseldorf (HSD), she began painting commissions, giving workshops for children and young people, and taking part in exhibitions at an early age. Inspired by scene greats like DARE, MadC and the LoveLetters crew, AURA loves dynamic, swinging letters and elaborate concepts with characters, background and style. There are no limits to creativity, that's what she loves about graffiti, that the creative freedom is limitless and you can always evolve and discover new techniques. Her motif worlds are often inspired by nature and preferably show animals. In contrast, however, she also likes to depict the concrete wasteland of the city and the eternally identical forms of the architecture there.

Especially her participation in the UNFRAMED expo and jam 2021 in Heerlen, the Netherlands, was a special honor for her. Since the beginning of 2021, she has also been part of the artist duo OCTOCANS, together with her boyfriend OLDHAUS,

with whom she has already painted a number of walls together and enjoys cooperating.

The very active year 2021 was concluded with her participation in the renowned annual exhibition of Neuss’ artists in the gallery „Alte Post“ in Neuss, germany, where AURA was the youngest participant.

BORDALO II (Portugal)

Artur Bordalo is known as Bordalo II, the artistic name he chose as a tribute to his grandfather, promoting a continuity and reinvention of his artistic legacy. His youth was spent in the company of his grandfather, the painter Real Bordalo and his incessant passion for watercolours, and his adventures around illegal graffiti in Lisbon’s underworld. He states that the eight years he spent at the Fine Arts Faculty of Lisbon allowed him to discover sculpture and the experimentation with various materials which distanced him from painting, the original art expression which lead him there in the first place.

The public space would become the chosen canvas for his explorations on colour and scale and the Platform where he gradually transformed his habits and channeled his experiences in Construction and development of his artistic work, currently focused on questioning the materialistic and greedy society which he also belongs to. The excessive production of “things” or the exaggerated consumerism, which results in the constant production of “trash” and consequently in the destruction of our Planet, are the main themes of his artistic production. That “trash” becomes the singular and peculiar raw material which he uses in the construction of small or large scale pieces which he has spread throughout the world and which aim is, above all, to be a universal manifesto.

TIM MARSH (France)

Born in Paris in 1984, TIM MARSH is an urban artist currently living and working in Barcelona. He practiced capoeira for 15 years and drew much of his inspiration from this period, exploring tribal motifs in the works he made during this time. In 2006, he joined the fashion world as a trendsetter for clothing brands, experimented with light painting in 2009 and became one of its leading figures, and directed the fashion pages of Snatch magazine in parallel until 2011.

He has developed a very personal architectural style, composing his works with complex and dynamic geometric shapes, patterns and lines that incorporate movement into the depths of his two-dimensional works. His designs create a theatrical vibe by relying on a retro-style color palette that he applies with spray, paint and marker. His compositions are characterized by the mixture and variety of mediums, developing his art through the use of specific materials and techniques such as tape, stencil and brush in his most recent works.

Tim Marsh is constantly developing his techniques, trying new mediums, experimenting with his creative process and echoing his past experience in extreme sports by painting on surfboards and skateboards or other functional objects. Inspired by urban spaces, he then began to express his iconography in large format on walls and other street supports. Since then, he has exhibited his work in France, Malta, Spain, Hong Kong and worked with brands such as, among others, Oppo, Apple, Smart Cars, Seat, Armani, and Kenzo.
